This feasibility study, carried out in 2009 by Al Tarab in association with Mozambican production company Ebano Multimedia, analyzes the technical aspects related to the creation of a movie theatre network connected by optic fiber in Mozambique. This project came into being due to Mozambique’s recent connection to the fiber optic network that surrounds the African continent. The results of the study show that the implantation of said network is feasible and sustainable. The goal is to create an infrastructure that would democratize Access to movies in Mozambique where, as of today, there are barely five movie theatres. Currently, Ebano Multimedia is studying the necessary economical model to set in motion a network of movie theatres. The feasibility study is a reality thanks to the financial support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
